Thanks, Rachel! I already have a whole list of excuses to go back to New Zealand 🙂 We didn’t get to the top of Roy’s Peak either, and the reason was that our feet stopped working after several consecutive days of hiking, and we barely made it down in one piece, but initially we did intend to go all the way up. It seems that most people only care about getting the photo at the lookout, though, which I also find odd.
